Speaker A:Okay, grab yourself a cuppa and let's get started.
Speaker A: sa heath Waring since January: Speaker A:And for a long time, Teresa had dreamed of gathering together some powerhouse women, providing space for them to connect, to bring all of their collective wisdom together into mastermind sessions that would spark new ideas and provide different perspectives to help each woman in that room to grow their business.
Speaker A: n retreat with me in February: Speaker A:She came up with the concept, the name, the list of people she would love to have in the room, the atmosphere she wanted to create, a mood board for how it would look, ideas for gift bags, a list of suppliers, and the start of a plan to get it done.
Speaker A:And then in April, she made it happen.
Speaker A:So Teresa Michelle, who is Teresa's amazing right hand woman, Michelle Newman.
Speaker A:Teresa, Michelle and I drove to a beautiful barn in Shropshire and we set to work beautifying the space, organizing the snacks.
Speaker A:I have never seen so many snacks in all of my life.
Speaker A:And getting ready for people to arrive the following morning.
Speaker A:So the day came, and so did the amazing women that Teresa had invited.
Speaker A:Honestly, some really big names in the online business space were in that room, all gathered together because they know how brilliant Teresa is.
Speaker A:They wanted spend time with her, to soak in her wisdom and to inspire and be inspired by everyone else in the room.
Speaker A:And the day was amazing.
Speaker A:The room looked stunning.
Speaker A:The food was delicious.
Speaker A:Teresa had thrown in some surprises at various points in the day, and they went down a treat.
Speaker A:And, you know, most importantly, some big decisions and breakthroughs happened when all of that collective wisdom and experience came together to support each woman in that room.
Speaker A:It was spectacular.
Speaker A:And at the end of the day, Teresa, Michelle and I cleared everything away, had a bit of A debrief before getting an early night to recover.
Speaker A:And then the next morning, we're up early, sorting out the flowers, packing everything into our cars, and getting ready to head home.
Speaker A:And that's when I noticed something.
Speaker A:As we were bustling around sorting stuff out, Teresa was talking about all of the things she would do differently next time.
Speaker A:She was already thinking about the summit that was fast approaching and all of the things that she needed to get done once she got home.
Speaker A:So I walked over to where she was standing in the kitchen.
Speaker A:I took hold of both of her hands, looked her square in the eye, and said, can we just take a pause for a moment?
Speaker A:Can you just take a second to notice what you've just made happen, to feel proud?
Speaker A:You've wanted to run an event like this for ages, and you did it, and it was amazing.
Speaker A:So can you pause for a moment to really feel that, to take it all in?
Speaker A:So, obviously, I have asked Teresa permission to tell this story, and she was happy for me to share this with you.
Speaker A:And she also said that I could tell you that she blubbed like a baby.
Speaker A:Those are her words, not mine.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:But yes, dear listener, by gently forcing her to stop and notice what she'd achieved, I made Teresa cry.
Speaker A:And if we hadn't taken that moment, she would have been straight into the next thing.
Speaker A:And wouldn't that have been a shame?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:We work so hard in our businesses.
Speaker A:We set goals for ourselves.
Speaker A:We have things we would love to accomplish.
Speaker A:So wouldn't it be a shame if we got so caught up in being busy that we didn't notice when those things happen?
Speaker A:I mean, obviously, Teresa had noticed that she'd run an event, but she wasn't letting herself feel it.
Speaker A:So I looked her straight in the eye and I asked her to feel it.
Speaker A:To notice where the feeling was and to really let that wash over her.
Speaker A:I was so proud of what she'd accomplished.
Speaker A:I really wanted her to feel that, too.
Speaker A:Because if we're always rushing about, thinking about the next thing and the next thing and the next thing, when do we ever get to notice how far we've come to celebrate the victories that would have seemed impossible even just a few months before?
Speaker A:Running a business is hard, and it can often feel relentless.
Speaker A:So the least we can do is give ourselves those moments instead of brushing things off, claiming it was no big deal or that anyone could have done it.
Speaker A:Let's own the amazing things we are doing through our work.
Speaker A:Let's own the impact we're making, the difference we're making in people's lives.
Speaker A:Because when we can really feel that, it will give you the strength and the motivation to keep going when things get hard.
Speaker A:And many years ago, one of my one to one clients said that I celebrate my clients into success.
Speaker A:And I think that's true, actually.
Speaker A:I invite my Make It Happen club members to tell me three things they're proud of every single week.
Speaker A:I start all of my one to one calls by asking what we're celebrating.
Speaker A:Because the more you notice the progress you're making, the more progress you will make, right?
Speaker A:Every time you notice something positive, however small, you are strengthening a neural pathway that knows you're capable of making amazing things happening.
Speaker A:You're building evidence of your ability to get things done, of your ability to make an impact, to grow something amazing.
Speaker A:And every time you notice that, you notice that evidence you are rewiring your brain.
Speaker A:So the next time you receive an email from a client telling you what a difference you've made to their life, every time you do something difficult, every time you finish a project and get it out into the world, instead of moving straight into the next thing on your list, take a pause and notice how it feels.
Speaker A:Remember that a previous version of you would never have believed that that was possible for you.
Speaker A:So feel proud.
Speaker A:Turn the volume up on that feeling and really swim in it.
Speaker A:And if it helps to imagine me taking your hands and looking you square in the eye too, then go for it.
Speaker A:I'm proud of you.
Speaker A:Look at how far you've come and imagine how much further you can go.
Speaker A:And as always, I hope that this helps and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
